Three hiking trails from bastide de basson

Provence Verte owes its name to its landscapes: forests, hills and rivers, a world away from the arid image often associated with the South of France. From Bastide de Basson, several trails invite you to discover this more secret side of Provence, on foot.

1. The Argens riverside walk

Just 100 metres from the property, the Argens winds through lush vegetation. An easy trail follows the river for several kilometres — ideal for a morning stroll or a spontaneous summer swim.

2. The hills above Correns

A slightly more demanding route climbs into the hills overlooking the village, offering sweeping views over the vineyards, the tiled rooftops of Correns and, on a clear day, the surrounding mountain ranges. Allow around two hours round trip.

3. Towards Cotignac and its cliffs

For more experienced hikers, the neighbouring village of Cotignac — famous for its tufa cliffs riddled with troglodyte dwellings — can be reached via a trail winding through woodland and vineyards. A full-day hike through some of Provence Verte’s most distinctive scenery.
